Chloé Savoy

Artist Profile

Chloé Savoy (born 1986, Coaticook, Canada) is a self-taught painter. She creates subtle works informed by Romanticism through processes explicitly related to personal exorcism rituals. The forms of her works are not instantly recognizable. The results are deconstructed to the point where the sense is displaced and the possible interpretation becomes multiple or simply empty. Time and memory play a key role in the works of Savoy. By creating poetic and often metaphorical forms, she aims for the amazement of the viewer. The composition and ambiances of her works leave traces and generate a certain tranquility, a precarious equilibrium between recognition and alienation. Chloé Savoy lives and works in Burlington, Vermont.
